Ball Canning Party

I won a Ball Canning Party from houseparty.com.  I got a pretty sweet package (aka FREE).  It included a water bath canner, jars, a basket, tongs, pectin, reusable bags, the Blue Book of canning and LOTS of coupons.  Joel and I said it would be fun to learn how to make our own jams and sauces and can them. 
So today I had my 'houseparty'.  My friends learned the basic of canning and we had a great time and shared some great food. 
Considering Joel and I just planted tomatoes, strawberries, raspberries, and rhubarb, this skill should come in REALLY handy in the coming months.  Watch for upcoming posts as we can our 'harvest'!!
