Jennie and I took the twins and Zack to Edwards Orchard in Poplar Grove, IL on Tuesday. I had heard some rave reviews about the orchard, told Jennie about it, and we decided to take a trip down there. (We met up with her friend Jen there) The orchard is free to visit and does no allow school groups, so it made for a wonderful day for us and the kids!
Of course, they had some fun photo opportunities, which we took them up on!
The kids were able to run around and climb on tractors, in a wooden train, go through a maze, "drive" a truck, and play on numerous other wooden structures. They also had a barn with some goats, pigs, a calf, a turkey, and some chickens. We learned that if children scream in the barn loud enough, the turkey will gobble for you. Needless to say, the kids thought that was AWESOME!! After enjoying lunch outside (pulled pork, apple pie, and cider YUM), we left to go home. By the time we made it back into Wisconsin we had 3 sleeping kids and two happy
mommies!!
