Over and done with
Surgery is over. I was there at 8am and home by 1230pm. Wowza! Anyways, they cut out my cyst and sent it to pathology, they were all done in about 45min (they were planning 2 hours). My suregon went to move the cyst a bit to see how much bigger of an incision he had to make and take a peek around it. Lo and behold (now these are his words) "it popped like a zit all over his scrubs". So they were able to use a smaller incision. YEAH! And thankfully my suregon is also a plastic surgeon, so he place the scar in my natural neck crease, so that when it heals, it shouldn't be very noticable. So far so good. Vicodin is controlling my pain well. I am eating (which is better than my other surgeries), and so far no vomitting (knock on wood) or nausea. Instead of doing inhaled anesthesia and intubating me, they did all my anesthesia in my IV and kept my airway open using high flow C-PAP (so continuous pressure on my airway to keep it open). They say this lessens the chance of nausea, and so far so good. They did send me home with nausea meds, JUST IN CASE! So thanks for all the thoughts and prayers. I appreciate it! Well, back to the couch those vicodin are kicking back in.
